e-Learning Program Curriculum

The Lifelong Soft Skills e-Learning program offers a robust and comprehensive curriculum designed to provide a foundation for the development of the soft-skills desired by employers.

The program consists of fourteen modules divided into four key skill categories; Communication, Critical Thinking, Collaboration and Creativity which are detailed below:

The Four Key Skill Areas

Communication

In this section our e-learners will cover the following topics:

  • Humility
    Discover how to be approachable, authentic, and open to alternate ideas/approaches. Included is a DiSC personality profile assessment.
  • Communication
    Develop communication styles and techniques and the appropriate use of different communication methods. The short assessment determines your preferred communication style.
  • Conflict
    Learn to manage conflict and identify your conflict management approach. Determine your conflict management style through the assessment

Critical Thinking

In this section our e-learners will cover the following topics:

  • Ethical Character
    Identify your core values and how they contribute to your ethical character. An assessment exercise helps you determine your core values.
  • Personal Judgment
    Learn how to make good decisions and exercise workplace-appropriate personal judgment and appropriate social behaviors in the workplace. Includes an assessment about how well you control your impulses in situations of personal judgment.
  • Problem Solving
    Discover basic problem-solving techniques to help be part of the solution. The assessment included evaluates your problem-solving skills.
  • Time Management
    Determine ways to manage your time wisely and avoid procrastination. Includes an assessment to determine how well you manage your time.

Collaboration

In this section our e-learners will cover the following topics:

  • Diversity & Inclusion
    Discover how to recognize and appreciate the importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace and beyond. Includes an assessment that looks at how often you consider aspects of diversity and inclusion.
  • Self Confidence
    Review the importance of self-confidence and taking responsibility for and pride in ourselves. Learn what your self-confidence level is through the assessment.
  • Teamwork
    Develop techniques for working well with a team of others toward a common goal. Incorporates an assessment of how well you work with a team.

Creativity

In this section our e-learners will cover the following topics:

  • Positive Attitude
    Figure out how to approach work with a positive attitude and display this to co-workers and customers alike. Find out how your attitude rates by taking the assessment included.
  • Initiative
    Learn to take initiative to solve problems, identify deficiencies and take action. Involves an assessment to determine your procrastination level.
  • Flexibility
    Recognize that change is a normal part of work, and understand how to accept change gracefully and participate in change efforts. Includes an assessment of your tolerance of ambiguity.
  • Work Ethic
    Find out how to be productive, reliable, diligent and loyal to your organization’s purpose, mission, and values. Incorporates a personal work ethic assessment.
